This problem is going to get worse very fast. I'm about to switch to "local files" in google drive to see if it fixes it but its 350gb of files and nervous I'm going to create version control mess for my employees. I noticed the files are on designers PC are set to "stream" and not held locally. I'm running into issues with google drive file stream, and employees opening larger 500mb+, adobe files (AI). Looking at the cloud vendors out there, I am definitely shying away from Dropbox from what I've been reading around here. For people that get paid to edit film, video, television, etc. Part of me wants to just move everything to something like Backblaze or Google Drive, but I just havent moved on that yet. All the media is on local storage with local backups. So the only thing I'm really keeping on the cloud is my project saves. They're then also backed up to external HDDs as another redundant backup, which is the media I should keep off site as my off-site backup, but I still need to plan that. I also move my finished projects there to archive. I'm already getting OneDrive from Microsoft since I have Office so I set up all my project files with my naming conventions in a One Drive folder, 'Projects,' which links to my media on a 4TB SSD for active projects - which is backed up to my own local media server every so often with SyncBack Pro. It's not perfect, but its working for now. I changed up how I'm doing my backups till I figure something else out. For people that get paid to edit film, video, television, etc.
